The Chamber had a busy month of October. B.A.S.S. Anglers were here for a tournament. We had 400 – lots of boats and lots of great fishing. The Chamber and the City served all of them at a Registration dinner on the first night. We thank all of those who worked and donated.
The Chili Cook-off was a big success. We had more contestants this time and more visitors. We were encouraged that so many people stopped by as they drove down Cherokee. Next year will be even better as so many said they would enter. Great band, good food, fantastic decorations and lots of fun! Join us next year. Thanks to Paula Templeton and all the volunteers and businesses that donated.
Trunk ‘n’ Treat is next and we hope it is more successful than last year - we had over a thousand kids for that one! Paula has recruited many participants and games, food, and music will complete the picture. We appreciate Paula, all the volunteers and those who donated prizes.
The Christmas tickets go on sale on Nov. 4 at the Civic Center. Doors open at 9 a.m. Larry Morgan has found some great new bands for this year so come tap your feet, clap your hands and listen to some terrific music!
